Advantage Assistant 

Overview

Advantage Assistant is a CGI product that provides tailored on-screen, step-by-step guidance or overview videos within the VSS application.  This helps increase accuracy and reduce support desk issues.   Please note, you must be logged into VSS to access the Advantage Assistant content.

Screen Guides 

The screen guides allow users to follow along in real time while in the VSS application and complete specific actions.  The following are instructions on accessing Advantage Assistant.  For this example, the Change your password will be highlighted.

Tips for Smooth Screen Guide Navigation

Manual Input Best Practices

• Use typed entries instead of picklists or favorites when following screen guides.

• If a field is not optimal or required, skip it and click the right arrow to advance to the next step.

Troubleshooting Field-Level Prompts

• If prompts aren't displaying correctly:

  • Switch to full screen mode.

  • Adjust your screen resolution to enhance visibility and ensure optimal layout alignment.
    
    

Managing the Dialog Box When It Obscures Menu Selections

• Instructions:

1. Click the minimize icon (next to the X in the top-right corner of the dialog box).

2. Open the page-level 3-dot menu.

3. Select "Create Position Status Maintenance" from the dropdown.

4. To continue, click the maximize icon (located in the same place) to restore the dialog box view.
