Are User IDs case-sensitive?
Yes, the User ID is case-sensitive. Each User ID must be unique.
Will I need to create a new User ID for each new user added to our account?
Yes, you are required to create an ID for the new user being added.
How do I unlock my VSS account?
Please email the VSS Support Center at vsshelp@state.co.us and ask to have your VSS account unlocked. Include the following information:
Legal Business Name
Federal Tax ID
How many characters can I use for my User ID?
The User ID is case-sensitive and must be between 3 and 16 characters long. Each User ID must be unique.
If I’ve lost my User ID, how can I recover it to log into my account?
Contact the ColoradoVSS Support Center at vsshelp@state.co.us and include your Federal Tax ID and Legal Business Name.
I lost both my User ID and password. How can I retrieve this information?

How do I transfer our VSS Account Administrator to another user?
Please email the VSS Support Center at vsshelp@state.co.us with the following information to start a VSS Administrative Reset:
Federal Tax ID
Business Legal Name
Name of former employee
After we confirm your company details, we will process the reset and send instructions for creating new login credentials for your existing account.
My VSS Account Administrator is out of the office, and I need to log into the account, but the login credentials I have are not working. How can I access the account?
If you are not listed as an additional user on the VSS account, please contact your VSS Account Administrator for help logging in. If the Account Administrator needs to reset their password, they can use the password reset option on the VSS homepage. You do not need to sign in to view published solicitations. They can be accessed anytime using the Public Access link on the homepage.
How do I change my VSS User ID?
The VSS system does not allow you to update a User ID, but you can create a new one and lock the old one you no longer want to use. If your VSS Account Administrator is no longer with the company, you must submit a VSS Account Administrator Transfer Request to vsshelp@state.co.us.
To add a new user:
Log in to ColoradoVSS.
Select the Account Maintenance Quick Link tile.
Open the Users tab.
Select Add User.
Complete all required fields marked with a red *.
Choose Account Administrator under Access Level.
Select Save & Close.
Open the Security Question Management tab.
Choose a Security Question and fill in the answer.
Select Save & Close.
Open the Password tab and confirm the credentials.
After creating the new user, make it the Primary Account user. Then sign in with the new User ID and delete the old user:
Log in with the new User ID.
Select the Account Maintenance Quick Link tile.
Open the Users tab.
Find the old user, select the three‑dot menu, and choose Delete.
Confirm by selecting Yes.
Why am I seeing a "User authentication failed. Invalid User Name/Password combination" error when trying to log in to my account?
This usually means your User ID or Password is invalid. Make sure both are typed exactly as created, since they are case‑sensitive. If the error continues, use the Forgot Password option on the VSS homepage to get a temporary password.
