Activating a Colorado VSS Account
Process
These instructions describe the steps on how to activate your ColoradoVSS account.
1. Navigate to www.colorado.gov/vss
2. Select Sign Up.
3. Read over the Memorandum of Agreement. Once you’ve reviewed the terms, choose Accept Terms to continue with registration, or Reject Terms to return to the main page.
4. Read over and select Next on the Registration Tips page. Select Next
5. Enter User ID, First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Password, Confirm Password, Security Question, Security Answer, Confirm Security Answer, Email
Select *I agree with User Agreement Policy and then select Sign Up
6. Select Continue
7. Click Send to send the One Time Access Code email.
8. Enter the one-time Access Code from the email and click Verify.
9. Search for Existing Account
a. Click the appropriate Search Type
i. For Company, enter the US Issued Taxpayer Identification Number and Legal Business Name
ii. For Individual, enter your Last Name and the Last 4 digits of your SSN
b. Select Search
10. Your Vendor/Customer number, Legal Business Name, DBA and a link that will start your activation process will appear below the search criteria fields.
For individuals, enter your last name and the last 4 digits of SSN
Select the 3 dot menu and click Activate your Account.
11. Requesting an Activation Code
Input the Tax ID Number
Click Request Activation Code
It may take 1-2 business days to receive the code
Input Activation Code from email
Click Activate Account
12. Verify account information and select Verify.
